Kim Jones dusts off some iconic pieces of his eponymous brand for the Japanese label GU
"Kim Jones GU production" will be available from March 21st
February 15th, 2018
It's been around a month since Kim Jones left his work with Louis Vuitton on an acclaimed show, sparking curiosity about his future plans.
While many continue, despite denials, to indicate it as the next creative director of Versace, the British designer launches a collaboration with GU, the low cost brand of the Uniqlo family.
Together the two partners present "Kim Jones GU production", a capsule collection that draws from the archives of the homonymous brand of Jones, which ceased activities in 2008, and updates them to be in line with the latest trends.
The proposal will include both men's and women's pieces, such as denim jackets and colored sweaters. Each piece of the capsule that will be on sale from March 21st will be unveiled via a dedicated website starting March 5th.
The cult designer, however, unveils a preview head via Instagram: a denim jacket embroidered in pink on the back "Kim Jones" and the phrase "Edge of the Looking Glass".
