CLOT FW18: the East meets western streetstyle
In the collections also pieces made in collaboration with Fear of God, Sacai, Nike, Converse and John Elliott
February 10th, 2018
CLOT, the Hong Kong brand founded by Edison Chen and its partner Kevin Poon, is 15 years old and, for the occasion, makes its debut during the New York fashion week with a collection that combines traditional oriental aesthetics with western streetstyle.
In the front row, enthusiastic journalists and fashionistas observe one after another the friends of the two designers like Aleali May, Janae Roubleau, Tabatha McGurr, Berger, Dr. Woo, Cali Dewitt, Nigel Sylvester, Sean Wotherspoon, Matt Senna and Vernie Yeung. This unusual crew of models wearing the series of plaid jackets and trousers, paneled shirts with floral motifs and stripes, kimono style bomber jackets and sweatshirts, overlays of garments, fabrics and patterns, photographs a contemporary coolness that will conquer the millenials.
As best sellers will be the many collaborations within the collections, partnership with Dr. Woo, Suicoke, Azuma Makoto, HOLY FAMILY or Herschel.
Those on which to bet are, however, with Nike for a Force 1 reinterpreted with an upper in a white silk decorated with Chinese symbols of luck and prosperity; the sneakers with Converse; the T-shirt with Sacai; the satin jacket with Fear of God and the denim with John Elliott.
