Alexander Wang will not showing during New York Fashion Week
He will present his creations during the pre-collections

The NewYork Fashion week loses another of its most important names.
After Proenza Shouler, Rodarte, Thom Browne and Victoria Beckham, also Alexander Wang decided not to participate in the American fashion week.
The designer will remain in NY, but will present his creations in the months of June and December, that is during the pre-collection calendar.
Lisa Gersh, CEO of the brand said:
"Our customer will be better served through the new system. The innovative approach reframes product on the month that it ships, rather than the outdated labels of ‘resort’ or ‘pre-fall,’ giving our customers more relevant and consistent merchandise throughout the year".
Combining pre-collections and major collections in the same show means shortening delivery times to buyers (concentrating them from October to March and April to September) and keeping the interest of the public alive.
According to the New York Times this trend is the result of a growing anxiety towards everything that is linked to the traditional fashion system, considered unsuitable for the timing of the digital world.
