Pitti Uomo 93: Undercover brings to the stage "Order-disorder”
An odyssey in the shared space with the collection of The Soloist
January 12th, 2018
The edition number 93 of Pitti Uomo ends with a tribute to the new talents of Japanese fashion.
For the first time, Jun Takahashi of Undercover and Takahiro Miyashita, known as The Soloist, share the catwalk, in a set reminiscent of 2001 A Space Odyssey and present their collections in continuity, one after the other.
The Undercover show begins with its "Order-Disorder", a collection that merges workwear inspiration, surviving theme and elements taken from Kubrik's masterpiece.
The 40 looks proposed are both futuristic and nostalgic: maxi work suits, tailored suits, sheepskin, fleece and corduroy, long pleated skirts, wraparound pullovers, bermudas combined with knee-high socks, large nylon raincoats and vinyl, safety pins, paintings, astral prints and Kubrickian quotes like "Human error" or "Computer malfunction".
From Takhashi's space we pass to Takahiro Miyashita's undeground warriors.
Their faces are covered with hoods and scarves like ninja ready to land on the moon and wear maxi leather-like capes and ultra-opaque outfits, armor made of corsets, frayed scarves straps, zip.
Pitti Uomo presents the most obscure and combative seasons of the FW18.
