A-COLD-WALL* FW18: functional items with a futuristic touch
Dystopic contemporaneity

National Gallery ROOM-1.
Samuel Ross presents a FW18 collection of A-COLD-WALL* during the last London Men's Fashion Week, that seeks to blend together the formality of the British bourgeoisie with the aesthetics of its working class, mixing art and construction sites as in a work by the sculptor Anthony Caro.
The clothes on the catwalk embody the perfect combination of art, fashion and functionality, showing all the codes that have made Ross's project interesting: minimalist aesthetics, clean and oversized cuts, high quality tailoring.
Silver, urban gray and autumn shades bring out the juxtaposed materials, hand-spun wool, cotton, plastic and thermo-active nylon, all elements that outline a selection of dresses and structured shapes with a futuristic touch.
The coat is oversize; workman pants have a drier, close-fitting silhouette and transparent panels; the heavy knitwear pieces are cut and sewn together; the overcoats are water repellent, the jackets have metallic details.
The rains are completed by pockets, hoods, belts and backpacks.
