Vivienne Westwood leaves the London Fashion Week catwalk

But the brand will present the FW18 collection in a short film

Vivienne Westwood leaves the London Fashion Week catwalk But the brand will present the FW18 collection in a short film

The world is changing and with it also the customs, the habits that have always accompanied and accustomed us over time. The fashion system is one of the most changing realities nowadays, because of its need to always "to be on it", to satisfy an ever-changing audience, all elements that lead it voluntarily and not to distort the system.

For the more traditionalist "fashionistas" it was already a shock to see women's and men's collections stay on the catwalk together during the Fashion Week, a decision that is increasingly supported by numerous brands: for example JW Anderson or Balenciaga that have spread their official communication this month.

Vivienne Westwood takes care of the cards even more. With an important story behind, the brand, after years of career and fashion, decides to abandon what are the habits of Fashion Week, and think bigger, or better, differently. The next FW18 signed by Vivienne Westwood will no longer show on the London catwalk, will not set up a show to present the garments in their essence, no more invitations, backstage, handshakes or applause. End. From now everything will be digital. The collection indeed will be presented to buyers and the media directly via email, will be sent images and a short film of an impromptu Vivienne Westwood catwalk.

“We’re looking forward to showing you our winter collection, which instead of a catwalk, we will present through the form of film and imagery, so you can get a good look at it and love it as much as we do. Buy less, choose well, make it last,” said Westwood.

The opinions are conflicting and certainly this will not be the only fashion novelty planned for 2018.

And you, what do you think? Are you traditionalists or favorable to upsetting?
