The first global campaign under the creative direction of Raf Simons
July 25th, 2017
Finally, Calvin Klein presented images of the advertising campaign accompanying the FW17 collection, the first designed by Raf Simons as creative director.
In the photos with a strong visual impact by Willy Vanderperre, a cast of 22 models depicted in the California desert in the background of a series of panels with images taken from last season’s American Classics campaign inspired by works by artists such as Andy Warhol.
Behind this concept lies the idea of showing the "juxtaposition between art and artifice, the real and imagined, the mannered world of high fashion combined with a sense of the every day”.
Among the items in the publicity, we can recognize patchwork jeans featuring a silhouette inspired by the actress Brooke Shields’s iconic image when he was only 15 years old by Richard Avedon for Calvin Klein Jeans in 1981. The advertising campaign is part of Calvin Klein 205W39NYC, the luxury ready-to-wear line formerly known as Calvin Klein Collection under the new creative direction of Raf Simons.
