Virgil Abloh has announced his first personal retrospective.
Well, OFF-WHITE's creative director, the eclectic designer who is now a very well-known name in the streetwear, will be the protagonist of an exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago. There has not been a date yet, but the retrospective will be held in 2019 and, in addition to the fashion designer's works, will explore the relationship between his brand and the new generation of today.
"There's a lot of thought behind how I got here, and the museum recognized that there's something deeper behind how I came to be. If you focus on the brand, that's interesting, but we intend to look at the 950 projects I've done, then reflect on what it says about the millennial culture",
Virgil Abloh explained in an interview.
