Sneakers to release this weekend - from May 12th to 15th, 2017

Often hype overshadows what's really important in the sneaker industry. The reason behind every relevant technology or silhouette ever invented: research and development. Today innovation is always put apart and people are more enthusiast to see a retro release or the umpteenth colorway of same sneakers than to discover what the most updated creative and production means are capable of bringing to this game. Even if the impotence of the role played by nostalgia in the game is well known, everyone should be more open to the future and its infinite possibilities.

#1 Converse x UNDEFEATED One Star OX

Undefeated collaborations are always instant Grails, capable to get an insane level of attention. In the last years UNDFTD range of collaborations have spread beyond any expectation, recently dropping collabs with Puma, adidas and FUBU. This time they gave their vision of classic Converse One Star, transforming them with a premium bolstered hair suede with leather lining. The star logo has been cut out showing the underneath leather lining, while UNDFTD logo is on the heel. The classic gum midsole shows Neavy and Red hints and the sole has been tuned into a Louboutin lookalike solar red. There are two colorways available, Camo Green and Off-White. The sneaker will be available at Undefeated store and selected Converse selling points.

#2 adidas Ultraboost ZG "Clear Brown"

This alternative version of UB has come back one again, now in an net mix of brown tones. The sneaker features a premium woven primeknit paneled upper, with leather hints on the tongue and heel. The midfoot strap has been added for additional support, while the heel cage has been directly mutuated from the last EQT release. The tree-stripe branding has been located on the medial side paneling. The full-length Boost can guarantee a perfect cushioning on every surface. The shoes will be available at selected adidas retailers.

#3 Nike Sock Dart "Safari" pack

Sock Dart has been a must-have sneakers for quite a long time. Now this vintage print twist will bring some fresh air to the former minimalist design. The shoe will feature once again the translucent midfoot strap and will be released in three colorways: White, Turquoise and Varsity Maize.

#4 Nike Air Zoom Flight Bonafide "OG" pack

Hybrid silhouettes are making a big buzz recently. We often see quite cool mock-ups made by sneaker fans or wannabe sneaker-designer around the internet and some of them became quite popular. Hybrid sneakers could start off a new era for the industry. This is the reason why these new Air Zoom Flight Bonafide are so interesting. They are an experiment that could lead to unprecedented outcomes. The sneakers will release in the same multicolor Flyknit, already seen on Kobe 9 Elite and in a more classic White/Black version.

#5 Nike Kobe A.D. NXT

This last Kobe signature sneakers come straight from space. The Snow White Primeknit upper and matching sole give them a futuristic and minimalist appeal, even supported by the innovative lacing system. These kicks could achieve an unexpected popularity, despite not being particularly hyped.
