In a few weeks, he will be the guest star of the new edition of Pitti Uomo, but in the meantime, J.W. Anderson is not holding hands: together with the online luxury shop SSENSE he presented mini capsule and a documentary.
The directors Angelo Dominic Sesto and Thomas Jeppe bring us behind the scenes of Disobedient Bodies, the first exhibition curated by Anderson and aimed to "explore the human form in art, fashion and design", showing a personal selection of sculptures next to a variety of pieces of fashion to investigate ìthe way the human form has been reconceived by artists and designers across the 20th and 21st centuries.
Opened in March and open until June 18 at The Hepworth Wakefield Gallery, the exhibition offers the opportunity to see the works of Louise Bourgeois, Harry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, Sarah Lucas, Graham Sutherland and Dorothea Tanning, Christian Dior, Jean Paul Gaultier, Rei Kawakubo, Helmut Lang and Issey Miyake in a series of provocative and embarrassing combinations.
The other part of the collaboration with SSENSE is a three-piece unisex capsule created with the illustrator Kelly Beeman: oversized tees and sweaters plus a classic J.W. Anderson Knot T-shirt.
The prices range from $ 215 to $ 360 and the items can be purchased directly on SSENSE.
