Gucci confirms Alessandro Michele success with sales record in early 2017
While Saint Laurent remains second
April 26th, 2017
There is something in Alessandro Michele style that makes the world of fashion go crazy.
Just look at the hype around every Gucci’s collection, every ad campaign or project that the Italian designer creates or browses the pages of any blog or fashion magazine to realize it.
Michele's aesthetic revolution at Gucci has brought tremendous success not only to images, popularity or prizes (man was chosen as the best designer in 2016 and the most influential Italian in the world for The Times), but also from an economic point of view.
Just these days Kering, the luxury giant chaired by Francois Henri Pinault, owners of Gucci, has released sales data for the first quarter of 2017: total sales grew by 48%, reaching 1.354 billion euros, while retail sales , that is, those made in the property shops, increased by 51%. E-commerce? Even that up to +86%.
The Florentine brand shines more and more, surpassing revenue from cult brands such as Saint Laurent, which comes second.
It's no surprise, then, that for the Business of Fashion the label of Michele has been included among the 16 fashion brands where people prefer to work.
