Edward Enninful, 45 years old, born in Ghana but grew up in West London with five brothers and graduated at the prestigious Goldsmiths University of London is the new editor of British Vogue.

The announcement today comes directly from Jonathan Newhouse, chairman, and CEO of Condé Nast International that describes the man as

"one of the most talented and accomplished fashion editors in the world" and also as "an influential figure in the communities of fashion, Hollywood and music which shape the cultural zeitgeist".

Enninful's career, in fact, is enviable and full of early successes: current Fashion and Creative Director of W magazine; he worked for Vogue Italy under the guide ofFranca Sozzani for many editorials like the legendary "The Black Issue"; just 18 years became fashion director of i-D - becoming the youngest director in the world in that field.

Now this last position, inherited from Alexandra Shulman who resigned in January, makes him win a new record: it will be the first man to direct British Vogue in 100 years of history.

The appointment for his debut will be with the August issue of Vogue UK.
