Jil Sander: Lucie Meier and Luke are the new creative directors
Proud and honored to join Jil Sander
April 7th, 2017
Rumors are true. Only a few days ago Rodolfo Paglialunga left Jil Sander and immediately in the fashion system circulated the rumor that to get his place would be a couple of designers: Lucie and Luke Meier. Now comes the official confirmation by Alessandra Bettari, CEO of the brand that emphasizes how the two are "equipped with a vision which is modern, cohesive, and in touch with what is relevant now".
But who are they?
Luke, Canadian, former Supreme creative director and Carhartt, is co-founder and masculine menswear designers Oamc. Lucie has worked for Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, and Dior's creative team, first as the role of head designer of haute couture and ready to wear women's collections, then with the position of co-creative director with Serge Ruffieux. Not bad, right?
Lucie and Luke Meier debut with the collection women SS18, but meanwhile declared: "We feel proud and honored to join this beautiful brand. We hope to show the affection we have for this brand through our work, as Jil Sander has had such a profound influence on our paths".
