"We Margiela" is the new documentary about Martin Margiela

First the retrospective, then the documentary. Following last month announcement of a exhibition coming in 2018 in Paris dedicated to the enigmatic designer Martin Margiela, now comes the news of a documentary, accompanied by a book, produced by the Dutch Mint Film Office. "We Margiela" is the title of the project. It will tell the story of the iconic designer, from the genesis of the fashion house until his retirement, through the stories of people who have been part of his life: models, makeup artists, vendors, team members and other designers. Amongst them his business partner Jenny Meirens who will talk about Martin desire to break all boundaries and go against the fashion system, while  the model Grace Fisher and the make-up artist Inge Grognard will narrate something on his private life. The documentary, whose release is scheduled for the end of 2017, will be an illuminating emotional look both in the Margiela brand archives and on the impact that the unique and revolutionary creativity of the designer has had on those who shared his path.
