No city – just living on Earth
(I was living in Bucarest, Romania, but I moved to the countryside)
How are you living the quarantine: fears and dreams?
My wife and I have moved, a couple of years ago, from the big city to the countryside. So when the pandemic started we were already somehow isolated from the rest of the world. So for us, it wasn’t really a dramatic change, in terms of way of living. The main focus for me in this period is working for my (now postponed) Special Sneaker Club in Milano show, so I am spending most of my time working the remaining sculptures for my show. Besides that, together with my wife, we have really enjoyed the extra time we suddenly both have and used it to take long walks with our dogs, we have finally really enjoyed our own backyard, saw a lot of movies, series and cartoons we always planned to see. And cook more.
Professionally speaking, as some of my commissioned projects for this period have been postponed or cancelled, I’ve been enjoying this “silent” time for personal projects. I have decided to add more sculptures for my Milano show – you can see more details about it on my IG page. Also, I’ve started experimenting with different ideas and techniques for other future projects, or I just enjoyed the process of creating some random artworks and sketches.
Fears: that this epidemic would not end soon, but instead will have a second wave, a third wave and will go on for a much longer period of time. Also, human civilization would exit this crisis without any good lesson learned. Or even worse, reach the wrong conclusions.
Dreams: That all (or at least most) people would end up kinder, wiser, and overall a better version of themselves after all this is over.
What is your soundtrack?
