How are you living the quarantine: fears and dreams?
So far, so good! I drove to my family house in the South of France before the official announcement, so that I wouldn’t go crazy in my tiny Parisian apartment! I’m lucky to have enough space indoors & outdoors, which lets me keep myself busy during the day — doing sports sessions, drawing and painting on canvas, putting makeup on and having fun with outfits, playing video games, and also cooking a lot! I also take the time to relax, which I usually can’t do in my everyday life, to do things for myself, make plans for the future.
Of course, I can’t help but think of what I read and hear in the news, the increasing number of people getting infected or even dying from this virus. I guess the scarier is the fact that we’re playing it by ear when it comes to the future. We can’t know when this will all end when we will be able to go back to our everyday life, meet with our family and friends, go back to work. We also can’t be sure that we won’t get infected, or infect people without knowing. All these things that are laying in the unknown, those are my fears. But overall, I’m trying to focus on the good side. On the nice things that I can do during the quarantine which I usually can’t, but also on the things that will come after. The change that might happen in all of our lives, and hopefully the unity that might result from this global experience. I mean, with half of the world currently in quarantine, I think it’s safe to say that no matter where we come from, we’re all in this together…
What is your soundtrack?
I actually created some playlists that are up on my Instagram. They include songs to wake up to, such as Color by Black Pumas, but also songs I put on when taking a shower such as Jump (for your love) by The Pointers Sisters, and even songs to dance to in front of the mirror such as Mala Mujer by Sonorea Matancera. I play different songs depending on my mood, or my occupation. Right now, I’m playing Death Bed by Powfu. I also play this one when I cook or when I paint. And when I work out, I usually like to have a bass moment with songs like Audacity by Stormy ft Headie One.
