How are you living the quarantine: fears and dreams?

I am currently in Sydney, Australia. I got here by the first week of March for my annual leave… I was all over the moon after a stressful month being on deadline at work! I’ve managed to visit a couple of places such as Byron Bay, Gold Coast, and just some bits of Sydney. After only 5 days of traveling, I’ve decided to lock myself in quarantine although the country still didn’t have many COVID-19 cases, as I realised the situation got worse. At the moment I spend most of the time keeping myself moving: cooking new recipes, working out 1 or 2 hours a day (shout out to my Barry’s Bootcamp family in London, definitely recommended to everyone, lifesavers!), reading or watching documentaries/movies on a new online platform I discovered lately called “Gaia”, a true portal of knowledge! I always try to keep myself busy and stay positive, but I must admit…many fears are here with me, and they are so deep. I tend to be a control freak pretty much in everything I do, so here’s where my mind struggles the most: we are all sharing one only responsibility and should realise that what’s coming ahead does not depends just on ourselves, but on everyone around us; that feeling that your life depends on other people choices and behaviours… it just makes you feel powerless! It’s so important to understand how facing this as a strong community could change the world so quickly, but I’m gutted to say… not everyone is on the same page. I see some people still not awakening, not giving enough efforts to make that big change. My biggest dream at the moment, indeed, is just getting my life back (first of all!!!) but also, I genuinely wish everyone could embrace theirs with a new mindset, where the importance of all small things that have been taken away from us, suddenly, can be appreciated again… but for real though. Things that seem so “trivial” whose meaning we forgot completely. We kept saying it, but I guess the world needed something so crucial to get the idea? The sh*t has gone way too fast, and we have lost. But hey, we are all here… just recharging. Getting ready to smile and live fully again :)

What is your soundtrack?

At the moment I’m obsessed with everything related to “DVSN”, Canadian artists duo, top quality sounds and lyrics. I love listening to their tracks at any time of the day, whilst I’m cooking, working, stretching, or simply when I put my head on the pillow after a long day... their album “SEPT 5”; is definitely my favourite, “Hallucinations” or “In+Out” the most played. The whole album just reminds me so much about the last month of my real life, before this madness came through. I guess it got stuck into the loop haha! Another track I bring in my heart is “Jungle” by Tash Sultana. She’s such a legend.
