How has your everyday-life changed? What do you do to fulfill your day?
Despite the lockdown, I can tell that every student's frenzy and chaotic rhythms have stayed the same (especially at IUAV). My daily life is made of classes, studying, new projects to imagine and create, deadlines. Of course it changed the way we are doing all of this: now everything is online, but luckily we managed to maintain the same connection between students and professors, as if we were in class. So, the change was not so deep, I would only have to fix my hair and eyebrows.
Your work is built on creativity. While we’re all in quarantine, what is your solution to keep on being creative? Where do you find your inspiration in this moment?
They say that crisis, whatever they may be, always lead to new hints and solutions. Creativity in our work is of two kinds: it is present in its most aesthetic and conceptual side, but it has also many practical and manual facets and this combination takes us to the creation of a collection. Speaking of creativity, this lockdown allowed me to "look back" to past projects with a more critical but also more mature look, taking hints from my old works to create something new. I am already at work with items I have at home: fabrics that I bought and never used, or upcycling some clothes that I don't like anymore, as well with everyday objects.
What will you do once all of this is over?
When I think of the post-Coronavirus future I feel scared and at the same time I am curious. I think that the life and the routine we have had since now could not ever be the same, but I still can't figure out what exactly is going to change, how and how much. Everything is still confused. I only know that we need to be the more flexible as we can and willing to change, whatever it might be.
