Schools have been among the first institutions to adapt to the new measures of quarantine. How did your school react to the state of emergency? In your opinion, what are the pros and cons of online classes?
As it happened to everybody, all the people from my Institute were very unprepared at first, but they immediately started to re-organize and put everything in order. It is not easy to anybody to adapt to a such drastic change. Online lessons are comfortable, but in some ways "aseptic". It is hard to find the right materials and since we take a lot of practical classes, it has not been easy. I like confrontation and I like to talk, to be in a group. This is my third year at IUAD and I am so sorry that I can't spend it with my classmates and friends.
The Fashion and Design Industries have been aggressively afflicted by the state of quarantine and social distancing. As a consumer, but also as a future insider of those systems, what do you think the worst consequences of this crisis will be?
As a future insider of the fashion industry and at the same time as a consumer, I am afraid that in the future all the emerging brands will struggle more than others. Fashion brands that are already famous will have some hard times, too, so I can't think of all those companies that still has not a stable role in the industry.
Your work is built on creativity. While we’re all in quarantine, what is your solution to keep on being creative? Where do you find your inspiration in this moment?
During the lockdown, many are "resting on their laurels". Though, this is the right time to learn new things, as we have plenty of time on our hands. We never have to stop our creativity. I took as my personal motto a famous quote by Erich Fromm: "Creativity requires the courage to let go of certainties. You need to focus. To accept conflicts and tension. Rebirth everyday. Feel yourself." My hints come from the most various things, lately mostly from my dreams.
