Schools have been among the first institutions to adapt to the new measures of quarantine. What are the pros and cons of online classes?
My university was very quick, for sure. The platform on which we take our classes is easy to understand and to use, and teachers have been really understanding when we could not reach some specific tools due to the pandemic. For my concern, the pros of online classes are my regular presence to classes, being always on time and the opportunity to re-watch every lesson! At the same time, though, the biggest con is the slow wi-fi, that sometimes makes very hard to listen to the teacher, as well as the difficulty to exercise the more practical subjects.
The Fashion and Design Industries have been aggressively afflicted by the COVID-19 emergency. As a consumer, but also as a future insider of those systems, what will be the worst consequences of this crisis?
Unfortunately, my "field" has been one of the most afflicted by this situation. As a consumer, I can say that many of my friends opted for the digital world and started a compulsive online shopping! I think that online sales have been helpful for the industry, too. Though, I understand that both the consumers and the retailers have to be very careful in going back to physical shopping. Of course, this situation led to a delay of the presentation of many collections: all the fashion week's system will need a new action plan. The worst consequences are the many jobs lost for the social distancing and the slow production!
Your work is built on creativity. Where do you find your inspiration in this moment?
In this quarantine, beside drawing and projecting for my thesis, I discovered painting on canvas! I highly recommend it, it's really inspiring and relaxing, and when you're done you can also re-decorate your home!
