Schools have been among the first institutions to adapt to the new measures of quarantine. What are the pros and cons of online classes?
Our school reacted super quickly and has adapted to the online class system quite well. Of course there were a few hiccups but everyone has been working together to improve. The cons are definitely that we aren't able to build relationships with our teachers and classmates the way we usually would. For me a big pro is the amount of work Iʼm able to get done without the distraction of a busy lifestyle.
The Fashion and Design Industries have been aggressively afflicted by the COVID-19 emergency. As a consumer, but also as a future insider of those systems, what will be the worst consequences of this crisis?
When we think of our future in the professional world mostly we just see uncertainty right now. With many companies going bankrupt or being forced to cut down, lack of clients and job security is definitely a scary consequence. Being forced to restructure the way we work and slow down industries such as fashion and design has a lot of positive sides but restructuring will not come easy.
Your work is built on creativity. Where do you find your inspiration in this moment?
Creativity is one thing that hasnʼt been put on hold by the pandemic. We always draw inspiration from our everyday lives, so when our everyday lives change that just means our inspiration changes along with it. I think the bigger problem is for one the lack of exchange and interaction with people who push our creativity as well as the restrictions in terms of how we can execute our projects outside of our homes at the moment.
