Schools have been among the first institutions to adapt to the new measures of quarantine. How did your school react to the state of emergency? In your opinion, what are the pros and cons of online classes?
Schools were among the first structures to adapt to the new emergency arrangements, in fact I am currently still attending some online courses. The pros of such lessons from home are above all the psychological benefits coming from the possibility to manage time as you like and from the fact of not catching the train (since I'm a commuter) every morning at crazy hours. The cons concern the connection, in fact it often happens that there are problems and in this way you lose more or less important parts of the classes.
The Fashion and Design Industries have been aggressively afflicted by the state of quarantine and social distancing. As a consumer, but also as a future insider of those systems, what do you think the worst consequences of this crisis will be?
The fashion and design industries are among the most affected by the consequences of isolation. As a consumer, but also as a future worker, I think that the worst effects will involve both small and major companies, in fact there will be more attention in the production (in the quantity, but also in the way to create new garments focused on easy washability able to effectively remove microbes and bacteria), but at the same time a new fashion system will be created, no longer marked by traditional seasonality, but by a new calendar focused on the waste and surplus stock.
Your work is built on creativity. While we’re all in quarantine, what is your solution to keep on being creative? Where do you find your inspiration in this moment?
My creativity has been enhanced in this quarantine, through online conferences, new free (fashion and art) platforms. The solution to stay creative is not to stop by the fact that you don't have physical equipment, but access digital content so that your own curiosity can be expanded.
