Schools have been among the first institutions to adapt to the new measures of quarantine. How did your school react to the state of emergency? In your opinion, what are the pros and cons of online classes?

The Fashion Academy of Naples has adopted the ministerial guidelines immidiately, providing us with tools and materials in order to study anything with the help of a computer and a wi-fi connection. Among the pros I would include the immediacy and speed in using the knowledge without having to go to the headquarters in Naples. Among the cons the difficulty to learn at best the practical skills required by the technique of some courses and the lack of human contact with teachers and students.

The Fashion and Design Industries have been aggressively afflicted by the state of quarantine and social distancing. As a consumer, but also as a future insider of those systems, what do you think the worst consequences of this crisis will be?

In fact, I have noticed that already in itinere the great fashion houses have had the ability to adapt, turning their production and directing it towards not just in their own industry but producing goods and providing services useful to the COVID-19 emergency. I think that, since the consumer now save is money, the fashion industry expects a period of crisis.

Your work is built on creativity. While we’re all in quarantine, what is your solution to keep on being creative? Where do you find your inspiration in this moment?

In this period, as I am lucky enough to live in a village surrounded by vast countryside, I have the opportunity to be inspired by nature and at the same time find contact with it. The web and the news offer a glimpse of what is happening in the world and from which it is impossible to ignore.
