Schools have been among the first institutions to adapt to the new measures of quarantine. How did your school react to the state of emergency? In your opinion, what are the pros and cons of online classes?
The IUAD has tried as soon as possible to interact with us guys organizing the meetings for the online lessons, I think there is the need, first of all on my part as a student, to have to follow the courses and to be able to keep up with the program, but I found difficulties for some subjects covered, the lessons of theoretical courses are easier, but as for courses such as modeling I think it is difficult to follow a bit 'for everyone, it is a practical subject that needs attention and testing, and through a screen sometimes it is hard to follow the instructions of the teacher. But on the other hand we can't stop and try to give our best, and I think that the teachers of this discipline will have found the same difficulties, not being able to supervise their students as well.
The Fashion and Design Industries have been aggressively afflicted by the state of quarantine and social distancing. As a consumer, but also as a future insider of those systems, what do you think the worst consequences of this crisis will be?
Many people forget, or do not know that behind a designer there are a thousand people and teams that follow him and help to get that particular final product; sadly or happily there are many things that will change, companies will have to adapt to other needs of their customers, they already thought to reduce the number of fashion shows, to think more ecologically and financially; I believe that this change brings innovations in the fashion world, all the people in the industry I'm sure will do their best to ensure that their final product will reach the consumer in an equally strong and direct way.I don't think there are better or worse consequences, I think the problems are the same for everyone, but experts will be able to take advantage of useful details even in these circumstances.
Your work is built on creativity. While we’re all in quarantine, what is your solution to keep on being creative? Where do you find your inspiration in this moment?
My creativity is based on life, on observing what we have around us, the hints from outside are never-ending. Lately on social media I see pictures of sunsets, flowers, windows, sofas, in short, everything that surrounds us right now, our home, and that fresh air we can enjoy looking out onto the balcony; and I'm happy that people raise their eyes to the sky, with their attention to details and things that before, perhaps, had a different value for them.Another way to experience a world not through the eyes, but through the imagination, the thought is: read, experience contexts that maybe you have not yet lived or known, focus into someone else's words, make them your own.
