Schools have been among the first institutions to adapt to the new measures of quarantine. How did your school react to the state of emergency? In your opinion, what are the pros and cons of online classes?
The Academy of Fashion, of which I am a student, faced the situation quickly, in less than two weeks it activated the online courses and recovered the missed lectures, for us students it was a really satisfying solution. The only negative aspect that I can find is the fact that, at least for us academy students, most of the lessons are practical and the corrections via webcam don't work perfectly, however we are responding quite well.
The Fashion and Design Industries have been aggressively afflicted by the state of quarantine and social distancing. As a consumer, but also as a future insider of those systems, what do you think the worst consequences of this crisis will be?
I think the worst consequence will surely hit the physical stores. Companies are restarting their production, but it will be difficult for shops to abandon the fear of "contagion" and crowded spaces.
Your work is built on creativity. While we’re all in quarantine, what is your solution to keep on being creative? Where do you find your inspiration in this moment?
I personally suffered a lot, the best creative ideas are always inspired by the world around us and the separation that there has been in this period has certainly contributed to reduce my level of creativity. However, further creative stimuli have emerged from this situation, definitely linked to fears, boredom, the technological world, but also to the nostalgia of normality and the knowledge that it will never be the same as before. The important thing is not to let yourself be totally destroyed, but rather to try to find creative ideas in any object or situation that surrounds us.
