How has your everyday-life changed? What do you do to fulfill your day?
Having a structured day centered around my classes was a big part of my day to day life and living in Milan allowed me to move around the city super easily on foot, so having that aspect of my daily life revoked was a bit difficult to come to terms with. I also moved back to my parent’s house in Dubai, which is a huge change in scenery from Milano. But I’m definitely trying to make the most of it, so I’ve taken up a couple of new hobbies. I have been taking this time to teach myself new things, like photoshop and illustrator. Binge-ing Architectural Digest content has also become part of my daily routine. I’m also reading A LOT more than I usually do, which is super refreshing.
Your work is built on creativity. While we’re all in quarantine, what is your solution to keep on being creative? Where do you find your inspiration in this moment?
I’ve set a goal for myself to create one piece of art a day, be it a cool collage I made, or a little doodle I drew while I absentmindedly watch my online lectures. As for inspiration, my girlfriends and I have had multiple online Aperitivo’s together, where we take a virtual art tour of random museums/exhibitions. I’ve also watched so many essay videos recently, my favorite YouTube channel right now being “NerdWriter1”.
What is your biggest fear right now?
I fear is for my loved ones, and I worry about the aftermath of this situation, but I’m trying to remain faithful and hopeful. This is an opportunity for us to make changes, and I hope we will come out of this more mindful of our behavior.
What will you do once all of this is over?
Ah! I’ve said the phrase “when this is over” so many times I don’t even know where to start. I’m going to the ocean for a swim. Then I’m taking the first flight back to Milano. I’m going to grab a brioche con crema and I’m going to walk around the city. I want to go out dancing all night with my best friends and end it by going to the duomo when its super calm and empty.
