How has your everyday-life changed? What do you do to fulfill your day?
My every day life has changed quite a lot. If before I was going out everyday, to go to university grocery shopping or just for pleasure now the house represents for me, and for all Italian citizen, university, work and amusement environment. I try to keep myself busy with activities, doing online classes, studying, reading and a lot of gardening, which is an activity I rediscovered. Obviously the down moments are always around the corner but it is up to us to manage them in order to become stronger and to not wear ourselves out.
Your work is built on creativity. While we’re all in quarantine, what is your solution to keep on being creative? Where do you find your inspiration in this moment?
There are no doubt of the fact it is not easy to stay creative living everyday the same spaces, with the same people, although I believe there are few tricks that can help to avoid monotony. First of all is to observe: it is necessary to observe everything, all the details, all the shades, the smells, the sounds. The knowledge we have of what surround us it is not so deep as we believe so today more than ever we have the occasion to find out more about objects, people and spaces.
What is your biggest fear right now?
In this moment my thought goes to the health of the people I love and the health of elderly people.
What will you do once all of this is over?
No, I am trying to not think about post-Coronavirus future even if I can imagine that relationships will be different. The safety measures we are following have changed our habits, we will apply social distance during our walks.
