How has your everyday-life changed? What do you do to fulfill your day?
It is safe to say that my daily life absolutely did change. I am usually hyper-active, and it was a deep impact for me to live a life where monotony is my only queen. It is insane how much I can miss to be stressed out, whether it is for school, work or social. Since I live in Milan, I must say that I miss trams, subways and buses: they are the most beautiful music of this wonderful city. I think I am lucky, though, as I live in a house that allows me to be close to nature: on the morning, I can wake up and spend some time in the garden, meditate, think and, why not?, sometimes I lay down under the light of the sun and I start traveling with my fantasy. In fact, I think that my creativity has never been so inspired: this is making my days less hard to tolerate, and I try to work on new aspects of me and new ideas that I never had before. I started to read books that I have always wanted to read, to watch movies and documentaries and I found my patriotism back. As I am still a student, my days are also busy with online classes and school deadlines, but I like it: it gives me the opportunity to share some laugh and to chat with my classmates, friends and professors.
Your work is built on creativity. While we’re all in quarantine, what is your solution to keep on being creative? Where do you find your inspiration in this moment?
There is not one right solution, it is very personal. My advice is to do everything that we wouldn't have done before, or something that we wanted to do for a long time. To create a list with goals and ideas. When you are at home, you can play with your creativity as long as you want. My hints to visit other places are reading and drawing. Then I take many many pictures, to anything that catches my attention. This is a time that we will never forget, and I don't want to remember it just as a time of suffer and struggling; I want to look at it one day and remember that my creativity was on fire and defeated monotony. Thoughts are our best friends. I am a total Cancer, I can say that I managed to turn all my bad thoughts in good thoughts. My advice is to stay close to nature as much as you can, or to draw, to color fabrics with natural elements, to tie-dye your t-shirts and to cook. Come on, don't be lazy.
What is your biggest fear right now?
My biggest fear is the start of a new economical crisis, which I find very likely.
What will you do once all of this is over?
I am thinking every day of the post-Coronavirus future. I want to think that we will start back as good as new, it will be hard but we will make it. My thought goes to the fashion world, that can speak a global language and is able to make us feel close than ever.
