How has growing up in Italy influenced the way you see the world as a creative?

Italy is a country with a great artistic tradition, a very dense cultural history and this is a wonderful thing, the downside of this beautiful coin is that it struggles to be contemporary from a cultural point of view and beyond. This lack of contemporaneity haunts me and drives my desire to express myself.

What has been the most fulfilling part of your acting career so far?

As an actress I have participated in several interesting projects, but I must say that the most satisfying experience for me was being the director of a small independent video clip, the piece is called Always Better and asking me to direct was a duo called 2StoryCabin, they are wonderful friends and I will always be their debt. Dealing with the process of creating a story excites me and that day when I was on the set as a director, in what was my first and to date only experience, was the happiest day of my career.

What would say to your 13 year old self?

To 13-year-old Esther I would recommend watching the clouds pass by in the patch of sky outside the classroom window of the Scentifico Calini High school in Brescia, which she would have been starting in a few months, but also to find a way to be careful in class and to study all the subjects, including mathematics, physics and biology, which will seem boring at the moment, but they are a replica of reality and studying them is an important opportunity.

What changes do you hope to see in your sector in Italy in the next 5-10 years?

More than hoping, I count on seeing many Italian authors, directors, screenwriters, actors, artists, writers of all origins.
