Pantone launches its first App, 'Studio'
Dedicated to all colour-addicted
August 3rd, 2016
Pantone launches Studio, its new iOS app for iPhone and ambitious foray into the digital world. The US company creates a workspace for designers to find, capture, and share experiences with colour.
"Fifty-three years ago, Pantone was introduced as a standardized language to communicate specific colours in the print market," - said SVP Ron Potesky - "Today, Pantone has become iconic and indispensable as the de facto language of colour across design disciplines, as well as a source of colour intelligence and inspiration. Recognizing the needs of designers today, we created PANTONE Studio to provide a place where they can explore, capture, create and share colour inspiration with friends and colleagues."
Thanks to a comprehensive library of more than 10,000 shades and an intuitive interface, users can capture inspiration from social media accounts and images from their mobile phone, create palette, experiment with combinations, showing how the colours appear in a variety of settings, patterns and sample templates as graphic, interior and typography.
You can download the basic version of Pantone Studio for free, while you can unlock the full access to all the tools through a monthly subscription for $ 7.99, or $ 59.99 per year.
A curiosity? For this new project the brand recruited 2,000 designers from various industries, among them many millenials from 18 to 24 years old.
