Loewe presents "Lucia Moholy, A Hundred Years Later"

From June 1st to August 28th, 2016 Madrid will be the background to PHotoEspaña, the forum dedicated to international photography which animates every year the Spanish capital. The Loewe Foundation will take part in the event with an exhibition dedicated to the work of Lucia Moholy (1894 - 1989), Czech intellectual and pioneer of modernist photography.

"She's a fascinating character and the exhibition focuses on her as an artist and thinker. Wether she's photographing a person or an object, the importance Moholy gives to lines, light and texture is evident. This is what makes her modern and creates a perfect union with Loewe, a company founded on design and technology" said Jonathan Anderson, creative director of the House.

The exhibition, curated by María Millán, includes some striking portraits of colleagues and friends of the Bauhaus, as well as shots of the exterior and interior of the building and a selection of images illustrating the products created within the school laboratories.

These photographs, used for press and Bauhaus official publications, reveal the artist's precise visual perspective, anachronistic in describing people and objects.

Lucia Moholy, A Hundred Years Later will be on display from June 1 to August 30, 2016 at Loewe, Gran Vía 8, Madrid.
