The anti-portraits
Belgravia by Karen Knorr
September 23rd, 2015
Photographer Karen Knorr has always been an outsider. "I've always felt a little out of context, but this is a great place to be when you're a photographer. It 'very useful to have this distance and it gives you the courage to do things that maybe others would not dare to do".
In the case of Karen's photos, in her "Belgravia" project, it's not about people as individuals, it's about the group.
Her goal is to make "non-portraits", that show people emptied of their identities to achieve aesthetic, theatrical effects, just following the guide lines of her inspiration.
