A$AP Rocky loses 100.000 followers on Instagram
Is art still possible on IG?
May 26th, 2015
A$AP Rocky's Instagram profile has now a 1,5 million followers, nothing to complain about.
Until a few days ago, however, there were 100,000 more followers.
What happened to these mysterious 100,000 followers in such a short time?
Gone, evaporated, vanished, disappeared. Or more specifically: they all pushed the icon "defollow".
The cause of all this discontent can be traced in the art piece posted on the profile of the rapper and formed by an endless series of individual images, many of which are white or apparently meaningless, which form an artwork when viewed as a whole.
The art project was created in collaboration with Robert Gallardo, art direction team member of Rocky, better known as AGWE. Gallardo has justified the experiment to Complex: the profile of A$AP is nothing more than modern art, only presented in an unusual way, a social network instead of a gallery.
In short, none of the images posted recently by A$AP Rocky are there by accident: they're all pieces of a creative puzzles, meticulously assembled.
Well, you, 100,000 followers irritated and annoyed by A$AP's account: do you know that Rome wasn't built in one day?
