Irving Penn - Resonance
Palazzo Grassi - Venezia
May 20th, 2014
Tell, but tell in pictures. Surprising, but always with grace, almost on tiptoe. A gift, a privilege and an attitude, cultivated over decades and molded to become perfection.
RESONANCE is the exhibition at Palazzo Grassi in Venice dedicated to one of the masters of contemporary photography, Irving Penn.
A succession of faces, expressions and objects , witnesses of a constant and fluid evolution that touches different subjects, still communicated with the same simple austerity and purity of the lens' genius. Among others, a section of images of the so-called crafts destined to disappear, as well as the icons of art, cinema and literature of the Fifties and Sixties immortalized by the photographer who, more than any other has " dressed " with its shots the covers of Vogue.
130 frames and four decades may not be enough, but without a doubt will be able to, as we learn from Penn, to become a different person.
