Bond and Beyond
Terry O'Neill's exhibition
November 8th, 2013
Photography has become part of our everyday life; we love it, we abuse of it, we use it to fix on the screen of our smartphones this or that moment "never-again-without" that will end up in oblivion zero time.
Photography odi et amo. But we prefer to love it and that's why we could not help but remind you of the appointment with Terry O ' Neill to Ransom Art in London. From today until November 30, BOND AND BEYOND will exhibit exclusive and unpublished shots of the collection of the '60s , '70s and '80s of The Photographer. With the 60th anniversary of the creation of James Bond by Ian Fleming this retrospective brings together the most sought-after photographs of the backstage of the best special agent in the world, but not only.
Next to him you will find the portraits of the stars of film, music and sport: Frank Sinatra, Muhammad Ali, Steve McQueen, The Beatles, Audrey Hepburn, Brigitte Bardot, Elizabeth Taylor and Steve McQueen to name just a few.
A unique opportunity (some of the negatives have been lost) also to relive the years of Swinging London, to see the Beatles and the Rollling Stones when they were still in struggle for the affirmation, to enjoy a very young David Bowie and an always sensual Rachel Welch. An endless parade of those portraits that made the revolution in contemporary photography, abandoning "the old stuffy formalism", as O' Neill sayd, to devote to everything that was spontaneous, unstudied and close up. Exactly what we try to do every day (and do we succeed?) With our precious electronic toys.
