God Save The Teens - Kyle Thompson

Tutto cominciò dall'attrazione sublime che aveva per le case abbandonate e decadenti, mania che si è sviluppata e articolata da autodidatta fino a renderla fotografia, arte. Kyle Thompson, giovane e talentuoso fotografo, ha un soggetto preferito: se stesso.

Lugubri, inquietanti oppure colorati e surreali sono i suoi "selfies", che ormai sono spopolati sui social network come genere di fotografia, ma che pochi sanno reinventare e rendere veramente particolari, come lui,  in un'epoca dove tutto è già stato fatto, inventato, provato, sperimentato.

Incredibile è la naturalezza con cui inserisce elementi avulsi dal contesto, o con cui crea situazioni al di sopra della realtà nelle sue foto: ci stupiscono ma allo stesso tempo non si trovano pecche nei suoi lavori, son realistici in maniera assurda.

Fa un'arte concettuale ma che non è molto lontana dalla nostra sensibilità interpretativa, non disorientano i suoi soggetti, spesso ci dicono chiaramente la simbologia alla base di ogni situazione immortalata, ed è forse questo il segreto del suo successo.

Everything began from the sublime attraction that he had for the left and declining houses, mania that has developed and articulated from self-taught person until to create the photography, the art.  Kyle Thompson, young and brilliant  photographer, has a favorite subject: himself.  

Gloomy, worrying or colored and surrealistic are his "selfies", that now is the typical social network photography, but just a few of people know to reinvent and to do something of particular for this kind of photo, like him, in a period where everything is already done, invented, experienced, tested.

Is incredible the naturalness with which he introduces elements extirpated from the context, or with which he creates situations above the reality in his pictures: they astonish us but at the same time there's not defects in his works, that are realistic in an absurd way.

He does a conceptual art but that is not very distant from our interpretive sensibility, his subjects are not disorienting, often clairly tell us  the symbology at the base of every immortalized situation, and this is perhaps  the secret of his success.
