MBQMBQ and ANTI-DO-TO together for Micro Grant Week initiative
An open call to support the Black Queer art community
June 18th, 2021
The project My Queer Blackness, My Black Queerness (MQBMBQ), founded by Jordan Anderson to explore the different perspectives of what it means to be Black and Queer, presented today the Micro Grant Week initiative, with the support of the activist brand ANTI-DO-TO, an open call born to support the creativity of Black Queer artists with a series of individual grants of 1000€ awarded to winners to support them in their artistic activity, whatever it may be: painting, sculpture, dance, music, poetry, cinema, photography just to name a few. From the 24th then, once a day until the end of the month, the stories of the winning artists will be shared and shown on the social channels of @mqbmbq and @anti_do_to.
Applications are open until June 23 to the entire community of Black Queer artists of any genre and age, including musicians and poets. To participate just follow @mqbmbq and @anti_do_to on Instagram and send the submission by email to the address [email protected] indicating the following data: name, pronomi, location, Instagram profile, three or four examples of your work, your own statement and, finally, declaring the use that will be made of the prize in case of victory. From 24 to 30 June, however, a winner will be announced every day: each of them will win a prize of 1000€ to be used to support their creative activity, whatever it may be.
