LAD and hypnos studio reimagined Piazzale Loreto

In the future in the center of Milan a new area full of vegetation could emerge, perfect to relax, enjoy leisure time and maybe organize small parties. It could happen if the project of LAD and Hypnos Studio, which will be presented on March 18, 2019 during the From spaces to places convention of the Roman university La Sapienza, will be realized. In fact, the team of architects has developed a very interesting idea: to redevelop the area of Piazzale Loreto with a Sovraparco.

How? Starting from the existing roundabout and building over the entire junction a large circular shape, with a concave basin, containing a sort of suspended garden. The structure, which is accessed by stairs or elevator, is designed on two levels: the space of the plaza at ground level and the raised garden. The first should a series of shops, bars and toilets; while the second part is a green paradise with a large oculus in the center, open downwards in the square below.
