Félix Maritaud is the new talent of French cinema Remember his name well as you will hear about him

Brown eyes, firm eyes, tattoos scattered throughout the body, shaved skull and a veil of beard to emphasize the features of an expressive face. Remember well the appearance of this boy, who is just over twenty, because you will soon hear about him. It is called Félix Maritaud and is one of the new promises of French cinema. Born in December 1992 in a country of Burgundy, a former art student with a passion for gardening, despite not having formal studies of acting behind him, he has distinguished himself for the disruptive talent and a certain charm that someone has defined similar to that of a young Romain Duris.

His career began almost by chance with an audition for 120 battements par minutes, film of 2017 directed by Robin Campillo on a group of gay AIDS activists of the 80s. This small role and the subsequent short appearances in Knife + Heart by Yann Gonzalez next to Vanessa Paradis serve Félix to start making themselves known. The great opportunity comes for the young actor with the first work by Camille Vidal-Naquet. In Sauvage Maritaud is Léo, a twenty-year-old gay boy who prostitutes himself to survive. His performance is so convincing and engaging that he is awarded the best actor Valois to the Angoulême Francophone Film Festival4 and, above all, Le Prix de la Fondation Louis Roederer de la Révélation during the Cannes Festival 2018 Semaine de la Critique. The latest work by the talented French is the new short film by Orazio Guarino, LA FLAME, written by the same director together with Stefano Skalkotos and produced by Naffintusi Cinema.
