December 14th, 2018
Watching at Sara Shakeel's collages is like diving into a surreal world. This Pakistani former dentist, born in Peshawar in 1989, with her art made of glitter and crystals has covered with shimmering and shimmering textures celebrities, faces, architecture, flowers, animals, objects, tears, conquering not only Instagram, but also, according to some, 80% of Pinterest's message boards in the world.
It all started with the hashtag #glitterstretchmarks making it beautiful and celebrating something that was often considered negative as the stretch marks that, illuminated by Shakeel, have become an image of viral body positivity. From then on for the visual artist came collaborations with magazines and major brands such as Emirates, Swarovski and Bally, but also prizes. She received the last one in Milan for the Glamour Talent Awards, winning Best Visual Artist and, for the occasion, she covered with her diamond touch the Duomo and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.
Of course, Sara's obsession is glitter and diamonds, but in her works there are often rainbows, crystals, flowers, butterflies, minnows and cosmic skies. A magic world, online.
