Spanish neuroscience and photographer Al Mefer captured a far future of urbanism in the photographic series Alien Architecture. The pictures were shot in Benidorm Mefer's hometown, the Spanish city with most skyscrapers in the country. The decadent futuristic style of the building and the light colors let the imagination flow into new universes and landscapes from different planets.
nss magazine asked Mefer what was the idea behind Alien Architecture:
"I think our current society has a lot of interesting issues to face, such as Artificial Intelligence, climate change and aging and human overpopulation. The idea behind this was trying to picture what urban spaces will be like once the conditions on Earth become uninhabitable for the human kind and we need to populate other planets. Something that seems to be more feasible with the work of companies like Tesla!".
Alien Architecture comprises nine pictures of colorful endless structures, a reference to the nine planets of the solar system. Take a walk in the Urbanism of the Milky Way.
