Performa Biennial returns. The festival organization dedicated to encouraging new directions in artistic performances reaches its seventh edition and launched the collaboration with Barbara Kruger.
The American artist, famous for inspiring the logo of Supreme, will create three works for the event: an installation for the skate park underneath Manhattan Bridge, a billboard in Chelsea and the design for a school bus that will then be used as a mobile unit for the community.
The woman has always used her art and graphic style to “immerse the audience in powerful messages based on activism, feminism and the community while exploring the role and power of the mass media” and, according to Roselee Goldberg, founder and curator of Performa
“Kruger’s intention to make deeply informed work that is accessible meshes seamlessly with Performa’s vision”.
