Nest
In this self portrait series I’m trying to picture the feeling of “being home”. However, in the series, hair, skin and patterns sometimes appear to be similar and the body tries to fit into to environment. The absence of the face reinforces the presence of the body in the space. Nest was shot in 2013 in my apartment in Bolzano-Italy.
After her studies of design in Berlin and Bolzano, Jasmine Deporta is currently working in multidisciplinary creative fields, mainly as a photographer. In her work, she combines delicate and interpersonal structures with relatable circumstances and common places creating new contexts and curious and alluring aesthetics. Mainly working with analog film, she has a sure-fire eye for an abnormal fashion editorial and captures grainy visuals which blur the lines between fashion photography and art.
